Prepare PF ECR, ESI and PT from one payroll register

Attach the client's monthly payroll register and CABookkeeper fills PF (including the ECR upload file for EPFO), ESI, professional tax and salary TDS, and the quarter's 24Q. A second person reviews and approves with a checklist, then you upload on the EPFO and ESIC portals and record the challan numbers.
Steps in CABookkeeper
1. Open the filing
On the compliance desk, open the client's PF or ESI filing for the month, or use “Drop anything in” and attach the register.
2. Attach the payroll register
Upload the register (CSV or Excel). The PF wage ceiling of ₹25,000 from the September 2026 wage month is applied.
3. Review and approve
Red checks block review. A manager or partner who didn't prepare it ticks the checklist and approves.
4. File and record
Download the ECR file, upload it on the EPFO portal, and record the TRRN and challan. The client is told by email.
Professional tax states
Professional tax slabs are built in for Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana and West Bengal, with Tamil Nadu's half-yearly cycle. Other states are not available yet.
When CABookkeeper is not the right tool
It doesn't compute salary TDS for employees on the old regime (they are flagged), doesn't track attendance or leave, and doesn't file on EPFO or ESIC for you.
Questions
Can I paste a WhatsApp message instead?
Yes. “Drop anything in” reads a forwarded message or call note, works out the filing and period, and picks out TRRN, ARN, SRN and challan numbers.
Does it make Form 16?
Form 16 Part B is prepared from the annual salary register; Part A still comes from TRACES.
How many employees can a register have?
The demo uses a 500-employee register.
